Mesquit get away!

Hello everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We have a vacation home in mesquit, Nevada and decided to go this weekend with travs brother and sister in law and their kids. It was perfect weather! Mid to high 80's. so nice. Its always sad to leave nice warm weather and come back to colder. Hopefully we will have a nice spring soon on Utah. Anyways, all the kids played outside the whole time and had a blast. Madden loved every minute of being outside and playing with his cousins. Thought I would share a few pictures of the fun weekend we had as a family.

So I just had to post a few more pictures of the little man from this past week. This little boy brings us so much happiness every single day and its amazing how much he changes and grows. We love you infinity madden!!

Happy first Easter!!!

Hello everyone,
Its been far too long since I've posted something. Been so busy planning little mans first birthday party which I am so excited about. I decided to go with a construction/ tonka truck theme like his room is. Cannot wait!! But ill save that for a later post.
So Easter was last weekend and It was gorgeous weather here. We spent most of the day outside with madders and he loved it. He is defiantly an outside baby. Always happy when he's in nice sunshine. So we decide each year to start a tradition on Easter and give madden a cute Easter outfit and swim suit for his Easter basket. Then as he gets older well put on little treats and goodies for him as well. We also decided to Start him In swim class. I'm so excited for it because he loves being In the water. Its a mommy and me class and it starts next weekend so I will keep you posted on how he does. Here are some Easter pics we took.

Mommytip on Teething!!!

Teething!!

So, finally at 10 months old Madden started getting his first tooth. Took long enough. Sheesh! I swear he's been teething since he was like 6 months old. He woke up one night and started crying for like 30 minutes, which he never does. So, Mommy instincts kicked in and I thought he may just be teething cause he hasn't had any other signs of any sickness. So gave him some motrin and then he went back to sleep. A day later I looked at his gums and saw a little slit with a white thing on his lower gums. Yep, a tooth was working its way in their. He's done rather well than what I expected and hasn't been too fussy (knock on wood) but I wanted to share some things that has helped with his teething and might help when your little one goes into this phase.

*Symptoms Madden had of teething:

-Drooling
-Fussiness
-Nighttime sleep interrupted
-Chewing or gnawing on things (ESP hard objects & his fingers)
-Gum swelling, or white
-Loss of Appetite

*Tips I used to help with Madden

-Gave him motrin when he was really fussy
-Let him chew or rub my CLEAN finger on his gums
-Give him teething toys that were chilled in the fridge
(some give teething toys that are in freezer but Madden didn't like that)
-Cold wash cloth for him to chew on

Hope some of these tips will help when your little one starts to teeth.  It's not a fun process and I found that the symptoms mainly lasted a few days before his tooth actually started coming in. It still hasn't came through all the way but I'm sure it will eventually. He still has little spurts at night when he wakes up and cries because his gums hurt so I end of giving him a little motrin & that seems to help. Hope you have a great day!
