Mommytip on Teething!!!

Teething!!

So, finally at 10 months old Madden started getting his first tooth. Took long enough. Sheesh! I swear he's been teething since he was like 6 months old. He woke up one night and started crying for like 30 minutes, which he never does. So, Mommy instincts kicked in and I thought he may just be teething cause he hasn't had any other signs of any sickness. So gave him some motrin and then he went back to sleep. A day later I looked at his gums and saw a little slit with a white thing on his lower gums. Yep, a tooth was working its way in their. He's done rather well than what I expected and hasn't been too fussy (knock on wood) but I wanted to share some things that has helped with his teething and might help when your little one goes into this phase.

*Symptoms Madden had of teething:

-Drooling
-Fussiness
-Nighttime sleep interrupted
-Chewing or gnawing on things (ESP hard objects & his fingers)
-Gum swelling, or white
-Loss of Appetite

*Tips I used to help with Madden

-Gave him motrin when he was really fussy
-Let him chew or rub my CLEAN finger on his gums
-Give him teething toys that were chilled in the fridge
(some give teething toys that are in freezer but Madden didn't like that)
-Cold wash cloth for him to chew on

Hope some of these tips will help when your little one starts to teeth.  It's not a fun process and I found that the symptoms mainly lasted a few days before his tooth actually started coming in. It still hasn't came through all the way but I'm sure it will eventually. He still has little spurts at night when he wakes up and cries because his gums hurt so I end of giving him a little motrin & that seems to help. Hope you have a great day!

Maddens 10 months old

Madden's 10 Months!!

Hello pretty people!
Well our little guy is already 10 months now. I cannot believe that he will be one in 2 months. Time seriously is going by too fast. Madden finally started getting his first tooth. Teething has not been very fun but he's been pretty good through the whole process. He seems to want to chew and gnaw on everything. Including the stairs. Too funny! Its gonna be different seeing him with a little tooth now cause he's gone so long without one.
He still just scoots on his butt but now he is getting super fast. Time to start baby proofing. He is defiantly getting around the house a lot and getting into everything. Opening drawers, cub bards, getting into the dogs kennel, just everywhere! Its so funny to see him scoot around instead of crawling. I will be posting a video of him and his scootin bum soon. He loves being outside and going on walks in his stroller. If he's outside he's a happy boy. He loves bath time and playing in the kitchen sink. We got passes to a water park for the summer and we decided to start him on swim class next month. I'm so very excited and hope he does well since he loves being in the water at home. He learned how to give really good kisses and whenever you say kiss he leans towards you and opens his mouth. When we say no no he shakes his head side to side. He loves copying us and learning new things everyday. This stage has been so much fun. Its a lot of work with teething and watching his every move since he is getting more mobile but its so much fun. Trav always says can we pause you and stay at this age. We are so in love with our little boy and are amazed everyday by the new things he learns and everyday. We love you infinity baby boy!

He loves eating out with Mommy & Daddy!

He loves going on walks!

I had to add this photo. His big cheeks and luscious lips are to die for!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cupcakes!!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cupcakes

Hello everyone! Happy st Patrick's day! Hope your wearing green and don't get pinched. Today were celebrating travs bday dinner at his parents and I usually make dessert for dinner every Sunday. I wanted to make something Trav would eat cause if you don't know already he is a little picky. His request was Reese's peanut butter cupcakes. So I came up with my own yummy recipe. The chocolate cupcake is the same recipe I use for my chocolate chip bundt cake ( which is my favorite and most used chocolate cake recipe) but I added crushed Reese's peanut butter cups. Then came up with my own creamy peanut butter frosting and I have to say it is delicious. I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter but I couldn't stop eating this frosting.

Chocolate cupcakes:

Refer to chocolate chip bundt cake recipe

Creamy peanut butter frosting:

Ingredients:

1/2 c sugar
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
1/2 stick unsalted butter, room temp.
1/2 tbls vanilla
1/3 - 1/2 c heavy cream
2-3 c powder sugar
1 tub of cool whip

Directions:

1. Best the sugar, peanut butter, butter and vanilla till its all mixed together and creamy.
2. Add the heavy cream and beat on high till gets fluffy.
3. Add the powder sugar slowly and mix all together.
5. Add the cool whip and beat on high for 2-3 minutes.
5. A lot of the times I will add more or less of the powder sugar and heavy cream depending on taste and the consistency I want.
6. With this frosting I wanted it to be a little runny rather then stiff so it would fall on the cupcake if they makes sense.
7. Top it off with crushed reese's pieces or half reese's.

Hope you have a lovely St. Pattys day!!!
